Vale Australian Blogs, Aussie Blogs
Its closed down, it was this site that was my first introduction to blogging.
I studied the blogs and started my own satire blog which some people took seriously!
One of the reviewers, was using the site to pass comment on the blogs and their owners, from whom I was called an "intellectual Castratti". This caused a lot of traffic to come to my blog as people vented their evil spleen from behind the veil of anonymity at my perceived comments not understanding the satire.
This reviewer later blocked my access to his own site.
I realized from my initial perusal of blogs that many appeared to be the work of people who used the web and its ability to both hide and expose facets of their personality both real and imagined, People don't have or seem to need the manners and semblance of civilization that is required in the real world when posting.
It makes me realize how close to anarchy we really are, I wonder were our parents and grand parents that close to the edge? Perhaps society and civilization have always teetered on the brink.
The originator and workers on Aussie Blogs deserve congratulations for bringing to the fore a collection of Australian cultural heritage, thoughts and ideas allowing us in this sunburnt land to recognize our uniqueness, and to hold our heads above the American flood
