Apprentice Thanks
Like Cain with “Mastah” I went to visit the Tradesman who taught me during my apprenticeship, when he retired he gave me his tool kit and as I see it in my garage I am filled with a longing to return to my trade.
The sound of the airpumps and smell of hot oil and ink I miss it.
My Tradesman I credit him with providing me with grounding in life, I never related well to my father and was heading for trouble the way I as going.“If you want me to teach you to print I will if not then piss off and don’t waste my time” were the first words spoken to me by him, a great start but one from a bonding experience. No wonder they called me little Len.
I can’t express my thanks enough for his advice on all things that a father should tell his son; Dad and I are closer now and it’s all due to him.
He’s retired and living better than he was working in his trade. Thanks Len
