Pump Pump Pump

Inside the fuel pump are two valves one for the inlet and one for the outlet they are never open at the same time. The flexing of the diaphragm sucks fuel into the pump and also forces it up the line into the carburettor. The valves are spring loaded well should be the inlet valve was missing it’s spring!

Removed the fuel tank and flushed it and the lines out, bought a fuel pump kit and rebuilt the fuel pump. Now when it was all assembled the car still failed to proceed Why?

The flexible metal fabric covered hose was constricted, fuel would flow through but not enough to run the engine at a speed above idle but by this time I had rebuilt the carby!

Why is it that it can often be the simplest thing?

$15.00 for a hose and its going again

Anguish and gnashing of teeth, Priceless.

Failed to proceed

On my way to represent Australia that what my car did in the middle of King Georges Rd!

One young Aussie helped me push the car of the road when we finished he had a big spew

"What's up with you mate?"

"Heavy night on the Bundy watching the Doggies play!"

Crap Crap Crap!

Full tank of fuel and spark but no go. I took off the intake line to the fuel pump and blew down it and screwed it back on and I got as far as Foreshore Drive same deal.

At the range I shot like shit ,crashed in the second stage as I can no longer kneel properly and then in the mad minute only got 17 away as I had feeding problems with the chargers.

The trick is to start with a loaded mag 10 rounds fire 7 reload 5 fire 7 reload 5 fire 6 reload 5 fire 5 reload 5 fire 5 by this time the minute is up. well that's the theory

Crap Crap Crap

Guess who is going to be rebuilding the fuel pump tomorrow. Sigh

I really am over working on cars.

Weggs book list

Weggly Woo of On the Beach at the end of the world has posted her book list http://exonome.blogspot.com/2005/05/musing-jaded-dj-tagged-me-on-that.html

So here is mine

1 Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand
When I read this book it inspired me to greatness which I have never achieved ( wry smile)

2 The Sand Pebbles, Richard Mc Kenna
The say that everyone has a book in them well this was his he only wrote the one, a movie was made starring Steve McQueen.

3 To Kill a Mocking Bird, Harper Lee
Read it at school and it didn't make sense to me I could not see what all the fuss was about.
As an adult or some one older upon rereading It inspired me to attempt a career in Law
( I failed)

4 The Trustee from the Toolroom, Neville Shute
It's the inherent goodness of man that runs throughout Shutes novels,This culminates in this novel that would make a great film, I can see Bob Hoskins in the lead role though It would have to be set in the 1950's as per the Novel.

5 Brown on Resolution, C S Forester
What can I say it's twice been made into a movie the first version has the late great Sir John Mills in it. I like the theme of Duty and I also like the Royal Navy there is something solid about an institution that has been around for so long that has History and Tradition, it cares not from whence you came but it cares for you. Of course the communist manifesto states that you have to destroy the traditions of the enemy by ridicule, well the Royal Navy is one thing I hope they never destroy.
